Do you drive a automatic 4WD?
Congratulations on choosing the best transmission for off-road driving!
Like the argument between petrol and diesel, the argument between auto and manual could last all day with neither side winning.  In fact, both transmissions have advantages and disadvantages.  It is just that autos have more advantages than manuals.

Have to agree there Doug,i drive a toyota hilux surf turbo diesel auto, and it goes fantastic.
Before this one,i had a manual surf turbo diesel, and my auto version leaves the manual for dead in off the line acceleration.
The gear changes are so quick with the auto that the turbo boost hardly drops between changes thus making it pull so much harder.
Who really wants to change gears all the time these days anyway when the autos are so good in the modern 4x4's?

Scott.
