Doug is right on  climate change! "HappySAD7000user" and "Inhere"  and "Arizona"and the  village idiot 1halfgram4three are wrong! They are  scientifically illiterate, climate denier easy beats!!!! They are terrified of the truth and too spineless to come here and debate the issue!!!
The changing climate is NOT due to natural variation!
The  enormous body of diverse evidence, the physics and the overwhelming majority of climate scientists publishing in  recognized peer reviewed scientific journals agree that the earth is warming due predominately to  rising atmospheric  levels of anthropogenic C02!

If your PLB is not with you and you are in serious trouble  eg immobilized  or lost then its not of much use.

What in case, that no one know, that you have PLB with - that you use PLB?
Is it still usable? Are PLBs ID registered per owner names?

What if you fall into unconsciousness, is PLB automatically activated?

In  Australia PLB's are registered to the owner and contact details eg next of kin are also recorded.PLB's  have to activated by  the user.

Are cb radios effective, if you're in the middle of nowhere?

In very remote areas like in WA I  doubt it particularly if you are not with a group. Sat phones can be another alternative.

If you are within range of a station outpost UHF CB may be of use but 27 MHz is not worth the effort I personally would not go anywhere with out my P.L.B and HF radio's and UHF CB but of course you have to licensed to use the HF radio's.
