I belive they where. North East Distrubitor in the States

Here what they wrote in the Auction

We are selling the remaining units of our inventory because our owner is sick and liquidating assets.  Again, we cannot stress this enough  this is a 100% real, authentic Minelab GPX4500 sealed in the box with warranty

Oh dear! isn't that the one Minelab warned about on the news page?

Thats a shame!  I do not think any Minelab dealer can sell for less than the other dealers.  They offer a bunch of "extras", but are set by a low price.  You should check here first before spending your money.  Sorry, but I think you got a reproduction and not a real Minelab.

A Minelab dealer owns the detectors he stocks, in
most cases.
If he is going out of business,he is no longer a ML
dealer, and can sell them for what he wants to.

I know what a 4500 cost a dealer. No I won't tell,
so don't ask. There is more wiggle room for profit
than you may think. Don't let a lower than dealer
advertised price sway your judgment too much.

The poster did state that his new 4500 was finding
gold. If must have been the real deal. If it was a fake,
and finding gold ,it was still a good deal. ::24::

Haha, looks like that is the one ML warned about! So??

Northeast claims he bought surplus stock from here
http://www.metaldetectordistributors.com/

Its got al the ML seals all the genuine stickers, test tags, warranty cards ect.

And the most importend thing, it finds Gold like a ML!!
Not even ML claims that they sell non Genuine stuff

This company is an authorized ML dealer but the company he sold it to is NOT an ML authorized dealer. If something goes wrong with the detector then ML will I suspect not honor the warranty because dealers are not supposed to sell detectors outside their own country ie USA dealers cannot sell to anyone in Australia etc.
To  see if your detector is the real deal go to:
