Doug is right on  climate change! "HappySAD7000user" and "Inhere"  and "Arizona"and the  village idiot 1halfgram4three are wrong! They are  scientifically illiterate, climate denier easy beats!!!! They are terrified of the truth and too spineless to come here and debate the issue!!!
The changing climate is NOT due to natural variation!
The  enormous body of diverse evidence, the physics and the overwhelming majority of climate scientists publishing in  recognized peer reviewed scientific journals agree that the earth is warming due predominately to  rising atmospheric  levels of anthropogenic C02!

I continue to hear very good reports about these new NF coils with regard to depth and sensitivity. If you have a  GP or GPX do yourself a favor and  borrow one to try.
Better still borrow one to try and get a mate with a SAD 7000 and do some side by side tests on some nuggets.

Have done so, but only as an Air Test.

The Evo definitely lifted the target responses on the 5000 to match the 7000 on the same nuggets I used for the Air Test.

However only in Air so how much would that result change if using a purpose built in-ground test site or an in-situ test then I cannot say as I have not performed this type of testing.

Their are some downsides to the evo coils which users should be aware of.Due to the nature of the winding's you cannot pinpoint by using the edges of the coil and the coil may be more susceptible to EMI if tilted. The evo coil is also probably heavier than an equivalent sized mono.
Here is one report on the coil from a us forum

Yes pinpointing on small nuggets while still at depth before the ground is disturbed is something I am yet to come to grips with.

However the edge can be used once the hole is dug and you are only a couple inches or so from it while still in-situ, although I talking here smaller than 0.5 gram.

As the nuggets go up in size the edge comes more into play, well that is what I have found so far as pinpointing has not been one of my stronger points.

Yet to see if it is susceptible to EMI if tilted although most coils do that anyway don't they which I expect is more to do with the detector itself.

The Rx windings will result in enhanced sensitivity (which you are seeing on targets) so i would expect that the same thing may apply to EMI and earth fields?

As far as I am concerned the Evo's build quality and sensitivity far outweighs if it has any issues with EMI which I have not yet experienced.

Also I wish to send a special thanks to a member here who loaned me the Evo coil.

Has anyone run the evo coil in salt mode on the gpx? If it runs ok in salt mode then this is another plus for it compared to the SAD7000 which struggles in some conductive ground and has no salt mode.
