Bugs,

I believe that Owen has, or can find, that info for you. It was quoted on another forum some months ago.

Hi Huego,

You must be dreaming if you think Inhere is going to volunteer anything that could cast a shadow over his favourite detector company.
If they patented the use of a knife and fork for eating he would say "bravo" !

Hi Huego,

Google just turned up something interesting.

Australian Gold Gem & Treasure magazine was first published by Minelab Electronic Industries in the early 1980s before it was acquired by Express Publications Pty Ltd in 1987. It remained with Express until July 2000 when it joined the current publisher, The Magazine Works Pty Ltd.

Hi Huego and BW,

Speaking of magazines:  I just received one published in the US, called "Lost Treasure".  It sports a two-page ad  featuring the GPX-4800 and the GPX-5000.

Conspicuously absent is the claim: "World's Best Metal Detector Technologies".

This appears to be a Prophetic Insight into the events of the coming year...

According this claim, there is no need for firmware to be upgraded.

I found this comment from LuckyLarry  fascinating
“And no, Minelab didn't invent jack s---t, they borrowed multi-freq square-wave harmonics technology from technology 100+ years old. Multi-feq technology was being used in the old telegraph days, then later used on telephones, then AM radio, and later  in computers. It's called multi-plexing, and was used 100+ years ago durning the Old West days. We used to get several people at once back in the 50's on a telephone line, and that is the technology that Minelab claims to have invented.”

I wonder how many other pre existing technologies ML  claim to have invented!!!!

Yeah Doug, pick that out, never mind that some of the people inferred, rightly I think, that he was full of crap. I eyed

Didn't notice this, did you? I eyed

Yeh, me too Doug. Epsecially when Larry was called "being negative" because he refused to accept the King and his kingdom. It is rather like being accused of "MInd Lab bashing! "  rolleye 1

In response Larry says (emphasis is mine) .....

I'm not sure who is being negative. Mostly I see people giving credit where credit is due, depending on their own philosophies. It appears that people here are merely telling the truth and pointing out certain things and sharing their opinions, knowledge, or viewpoints with others. The step-by-step progressiveness of this technology is inevitable anyway, but just because someone picks up the ball and runs with it doesn't mean that they invented the game.

......... It (he refers to freedom of expression) works here on this site though because it's small enough. It's called Democracy.

How TRUE and here too LARRY!  HOW BLOODY TRUE!   respect  Candy followed in the footsteps of MANY others it is apparent from all we know now.

"Candy followed in the footsteps of MANY others it is apparent from all we know now."
But do you ever see Candy or ML or the  I eyed pro ML anti anything else ever acknowledge  or give credit to these people?
Candy and ML in my opinion have just hitched a ride on the backs of the giant's  that came before them!!!
Inhere also forgets about the huge amounts of gold found with VLF detectors like Garret's and Whites long before ML detectors were ever significant.
We will never know how much gold these detectors found so to say that Candy designs have found more more gold then anyone elses is just unsubstantiated, pro ML spin!

Do you have any published data (not anecdotal evidence or ML spin) to show that ML designed detectors have found more gold than any other designs?
I challenge you to validate your claim!!!!
