Maybe this part could be a useful replacement/update for anyone repairing or building their own detector. Some versions of this have an "ENABLE" pin. I have seen that the QED uses a switch which also has this "ENABLE" feature.

PhilipHD highlighted the usefulness/importance of that feature, in his experiments. Also interesting was some comments made by another contributor on geotech (KingJL), when he described an aspect of the Goldscan4 demod/gate switching that he found interesting.

I hope this post brings up some discussion, hints and ideas/tips.

I use this switch - it is very good. Enable pin for enable functions enables all switches. I would like such a chip that turns on each switch individually :)

Hmmm, I didn't see a switch like that.
What if you use several of the switches (with Enable) in series, then you could have a fancy and complicated mux-like arrangement ? And then you have the headache of routing and supplying multiple chips.. Sometimes simple is better.

What number of switches/channels and poles would you like with individual enable ?
