doug smile  its not a stereo Doug ...its a tool .. the frequency varies with target response so not sure what a tone control would do ... I am thinking 220 hz for the base tone .. or maybe 440 hz.

I do have points on the board for either a digital or manual ( i.e. pot ) gain control ... however I have found a rather cool gain control that allows the target itself to set gain ...which means no control required. There is still around 60 db of dynamic range in the response to gauge target size.
