Another satisfied QED user! QED user report for 9 days detecting! User loves it, found it easy to use, found gold with it and he prefers it to his 5000! Also a report on a QED used at the beach for coin shooting.QED users reporting in with their multi ounce gold finds with the QED! More QED users reporting in! QED users are reporting that they do not find "bias drift" an issue!
The QED pictured is backward compatible with the current QED and has been designed and made by a member here. The firmware and circuit are identical with the current version except for a change in the face plate and control box. Changing to this configuration will NOT void the warranty when performed by the control box designer as it has been endorsed, approved and authorized by the QED manufacturer. The 4th button will not work at this time as the  firmware update for that has not been created yet and when its available will be provided free of charge (other than postage costs)by BW. QED Detector ,latest updates board is only available to registered forum members.

Goldsearch Australia has been appointed the Australian Distributor for the QED. QED info on the Goldsearch website has been updated.
This is the only forum where you can talk directly with the designer/ manufacturer of the QED and  also some very experienced QED users.
Jrbeatty and Reg Wilson  and  Yellowfin  (or Doug here for that matter!)have NO vested  or pecuniary interests(or secret deals or cash for comment or any other undisclosed benefits )in the QED other than using it to find gold which it is doing very successfully!

HI,

I would like to present my project under the name of tactics - platform development using new technologies. Here I present the technical assumptions - if I start from the end but what the hell :)

- Lightweight electronics enclosure IP65 membrane keyboard
- Graphical LCD FSTN - readable in sunlight with the possibility of backlighting
- High-quality sensor connector, power supply, headphones and a computer (connector that can be done by software upgrade - degree of protection IP67 connectors - cooperation with probes DD32, DD38 and probe 1x1m Frame Coil- the technology 3TWS
- Modern microprocessor ATXmega
- ADC 18-bit - sensitivity 1uV
- Built-in datalogger memory DataFlash
- Transmitter power 120W
- Datalogger - 5-channel, 21-bit resolution
- 32-bit RTC - time (watch), date
- Cooperation with data visualization software (Excel, Surfer, Taktykgeo 1.0)
- Ergonomic 3 piece construction with aluminum and Carbon black + harness carrier

Nice looking board, Taktyk, congratulation.

As I can read on your web site, your detector is already on sale. What are prices in $ or euro?

Are there any schematic or even block scheme of your design?

Power consumption 120W is very high (your battery pack will last no more than 4h). Why you decided for (configuration of) so high consumption?

The current in the coil is 10A, pulse is about 700Vpp :) Power supply is a rechargeable 12V accu, 7Ah - as in lorenz deepmax.

This version was never sold. It is not commercial. Website is my...:)

The block diagram I will show in a moment.

Hello,

The pictures of pcb on geotech look very nice. But you never listed important details.

Can you tell us what PPS, TX width and Delay your detector uses ? As this is for relics, it would be interesting to know.

1000-1200PPS (factory preset = 1000PPS). Sampling delay from 10 to 140uS (for the implementation of size discrimination), factory preset = 25uS. TX width from 150uS-200uS. DSP system can be easily modified through a modification of the software.

Regards

It is the identification (ADC reading) of connected coils ->> 13'', 18'' and frame coil 1x1m and other...

The coils have similar characteristics, but not perfect. Identification lets you adjust the system parameters. Setting pramp offset by the DAC..
