There are usually three clues to these cons in the listing.
1. Email address for contact.
2. Bank transfers preferred (or money services like western union etc).
3. No "cash on collection."
This auction clicks two of my alarm bell criteria, but as he accepts cash on collection I think it could be genuine.
Also his feedback looks good with a previous sale of a 4500.

BTW - This auction would be deleted if ebay saw the statement "paypal is  another secure way you can pay,  but you pay the fees not me !"

This might be one of these guys that get the 5000s cheaper in the USA and then sells them here for a profit, how would that affect the warranty from Minelab from USA to Australia.

A good question! But the new transferable warranties I believe only apply if the detector is sold to another person in the same country? So does mean that ML would not honor the warranty? ML dealers are also not supposed to sell ML detectors outside their own country.
