Sure looks like a recently melted lump with so many smooth surfaces. Not rough enough!
Maybe most of the gold from there is like that? Then again it could be 9 ct ("scrap") gold smelted into a lump.
Looks fishy to me too.  I woudn't call it "rough as guts" but "not ruff enuff" or "not gold enuf"!  ::38::
