The price is unrealistically low(too good to be true!!!) and the fact that he will only accept bids after you contact him  by email. Try asking him for the serial number of the 5000 and a scanned copy of the receipt of purchase and then see if he responds!!!

I cant, he only sell to Australia. But he has good eBay history, except if User ID is stolen.

Spot on about the users ID! He has been thrown off ebay before. Last time I asked him for the detectors serial number and/or receipt of purchase they were not forthcoming! Notice also the detector was bought in Vic but is now allegedly in Queensland. Last time it was in WA!
What he is trying to do is to get people to "buy" the detector privately (no  buyer protection then! eg may want money through western union!) which is why he won't allow bids unless you contact him on what is probably an untraceable  email /ip address!

First off all I want to thank you for your question about the minelab. The total price is $2800 AUD including the shipping to your address. Price reduced for quick sale.
Currently i am located in London, UK, because i just finished the divorce with my wife and i have moved here to my parents home for a new life. The payment will be made through eBay and only after you will receive the minelab, i will receive the payment.
It will take around 2-3 working days until you will receive the minelab and you will have a 3 days inspection period (so you have 3 days to change your mind and refuse or keep the minelab). Also, I need to know if you have cash in hand because I have a lot buyers interested in the purchase and I don't have time to waste. No offense but if you really want to buy the minelab I will stop communicating with the other interested buyers.
If you are interested in buying it please provide me your full name and address so i can initiate the deal through eBay.
I will wait your answer (if you are interested to buy) very soon.

This listing was ended by the seller because the item is no longer available.
Now either some poor bugger has been scammed or he has been caught out and removed the listing.
Interesting that he still sends me an email after the listing has been ended!

Yes very interesting, "located in London" but sell only to Australian?

Why he need extra address if accept Pay-pal? Pay-pal provide all data needed for seller.

Probably eBay name stolen, because in in his seller history we cannot find electronic devices like detectors.

You are right, obvious scam.
