Hi all, I’m after some old issues of Australian Gold Gem & Treasure Magazine to fill a few gaps in my collection. At the time it appears it was called Australian Gem & Treasure Hunter.

I am after issues from 1985 through to 1987. Ideally I would be able to buy the entire lot, or year sets,  from someone rather than single issues one at a time.

I realise these issues would be old, and hence I don’t mind if they have some damage or tears, loose covers, even some writing on them, although I do want issues without any missing pages.

If you have a significant number of the issues from this date range then please contact me.  I would envisage payment by PayPal.
Many thanks!

Hello Golden Kiwi,

I have the complete set from Jan 1980 till now, with the exception of 4 editions in the early Eighty's.

They are hard to come by but I do know of some early books that a mate has, I will see him and get back to you over the next week.

He is not a collector and should let you have some.

Cheers  Alluvium.

Hello GoldenKiwi,

I saw my friend over the weekend and sorry to say he had no G&T books of that vintage.
They started early 90's and up.

PM me with your e-mail address, so we can discuss the books your after.

Cheers  Alluvium.

Hi  GoldenKiwi,

Thanks for your PM, glad to see you have picked some copies up lately.

There was a chap in Canberra who used to deal in these Mags, I got a few from him after I had misplaced or lent some to mates, this was a year or so back.

I will look up his details and pass them on to you, looking at where you are living presently; I would suggest that you wait till you move to Melbourne.  The freight to send them to you would be too costly.

It's unbelievable how much my collection weighs.

Regards from Alluvium.

Cheers Alluvium,
Yeah mags are heavy! And yep,  I already know airmail postage to the U.K is expensive! I have to keep feeding my interest though! I’ve purchased a few lots and had them posted, and packed my suitcase full when I’ve visited Aus on the last few trips.
Yes the chap’s details would be much appreciated if you can locate them.

For the record, I’ve managed to purchase and am awaiting delivery of the following;
 - 1985   April
 - 1986   March, April, May, August
 - 1987   Jan/Feb(1 issue?), April, June, August, November, December
If anyone has further issues, particularly in 1985 I still would be very interested. While postage it is expensive, Auspost airmail  is reliable and fast to the U.K. I am willing pay the required amount. Alternatively I do have family address in Melbourne or Sydney I could have things delivered to if anyone is only willing to do local postage.

Once I'm in Melbourne permanently I hope not to have time to read! Ha ha!
Cheers

G'day GoldenKiwi, I went through 1 pile of early GG&T mags and I have most ,I think, that you are looking for.

I  also have a few from 81-83 ::55::

I also have some old year books, annuals etc but I cant find a date on them.

The Jan/Feb's that were 1 issue in 85/86 but I have a jan issue alone in 87, so I don't know
whats going on with the 1 you are getting.  Anyway, I have most of what you want and still a stack to go through.

Hi Owen,

The G/G & T's were that way for a couple of years around 85/86, where the Jan & Feb books were combined, it may have been about the time Cyril Kovacs sold out to M/Lab.
I don't know either, why they never dated their special editions.

The missing editions I have been chasing for Years are, the April 1980 book number 45,  June 1981, plus April and June books in 1983.

Do you want gold or cash??

Cheers  Alluvium.
