The result here on a 7 gram nugget shows that the 3-oz air test depth spoken about on the ATX forum is not an accurate indicator of the depth potential of this detector.

G'day Mylab,

You would be surprised to find that some larger nuggets don't give the depth response you would expect. If the nugget has a similar decay to the ground the detection depth can be greatly reduced. Smaller nuggets (depending on how the GB is done) are less likely to have any of their signal subtracted out therefore they will show quite good depth results. This is commonly known as the "electronic hole". ML get around this hole by having 2 channels, one main channel and the other to cover the hole in the main channel, thus giving good results on a broad range of targets.

Cheers Mick
