Yes, sadly they do corrupt old posts Doug.

 I have changed the codes on the smileys so they should not interfere with normal posts.The first code symbol is now one that would rarely if ever be used in normal posting (ie it is not a letter or number. but theot may still be some mess ups with the codes so i will constantly review the situation.

I have checked all the smileys now  and tried to create codes for them so that they won't interfere with words and symbols in posts.But this could still happen and if it does I will change the code of the offending smiley or just get rid of it.I am still battling spammers ^>? trying to join the forum and they tend to apply in waves!

:!xxx!:

xxx stands for code, no gaps between them
Free science, knowledge and inventions to the mankind.
