I see that JP  I eyed pro ML/anti anything else is busy promoting the gpx 5000  by showing his usual handful of nuggets! Don't be fooled by this insidious promotion which implies that you too can be just as successful if only you get a gpx 5000! Well we all know this is just not true! But the most important question to be answered is this: how many of this fistful of nuggets could have been found with other detectors like the TDI,QED or even earlier ML models? No one knows the answer to this question  for sure but a reasonable guess  is probably the majority!!!! ::38::
$6000 +  is a lot of money to try and achieve a dream that in most cases will never be fulfilled and might be just as realistically achieved for a much smaller outlay!
I  will await the verdict on the 5000 from those that have no vested interest in promoting or selling it!
I certainly will not be convinced by the musings of  a I eyed pro ML/anti anything else spin doctor and self promoter!

My  post is not about the QED,but more about if someone with an earlier model ML really needs to "upgrade" to a 4800 or 5000 to find the gold that earlier model ML detectors have missed and if this "missed" gold  can justify  the additional spending on the new models. Of course the  I eyed pro ML/anti anti anything else spin doctors like JP will answer this question with  big yes.I personally prefer to wait for the opinions of those that have no vested interest in  promoting or selling the detectors! Look the 5000 may turn out to be a landmark in ML detectors but I  personally will not rely on the opinions of either ML spin merchants or of  I eyed pro ML anti anything people!

Yes you did read QED in the question quite right! ::38:: But unless a side  by side comparison is done then no one can say that the fistful of Jp's nuggets could not have been found with other Pi detectors. The implication in JP posts is that only the new detectors will find you this fistful of nuggets and that everyone should race out and get one ASOP!
Well until someone  who I trust and has no vested interest  in ML or promoting/selling the new detectors gives a comprehensive field report then I will remain skeptical about the new detectors!
