 I have spent hours on the phone to my web host and Optus to try and work out what went wrong. Have done tracert pinging and changing DNS settings  on the forum cpanel and my own PC.Still not sure what the problem was due to. To make matters worse the laptop pc battery charger died and our beyond wiz TV program recorder still can't " talk"(other than change channels and turn it on/off) to the TV despite been repaired twice!! The joys of technology!!!!!

PS the forum was not down as the flounders wanker Inhere cazy goat  Patches Junior moron  inferred due to me being fearful of or beaten by UFox on climate change!

I can't do anything until  I get responses from my Web host and Optus. What is strange and unexplained is why I could still easily access  all other web sites and forums but was timed out on this one! To make it more difficult to explain I could  easily access the forum database on my web hosts server while  still being timed out on the forum!!!!

I will experiment with some more changes (which i can undo!) to DNS settings tomorrow to see what if any effect they have. I will leave things as they are for the moment!

Forum seems to flying along now Doug. Even loads quickly - its usually slow.

Lets hope that glitch is ove r- may be been part of the upgrade done.

So far so good! The DNS settings are now where they were when the time out problems started appearing. I suspect i will never know what caused the problem but its likely it was due to my web host who have fixed it but not told me the reasons or admitted it was their problem?
