What sort of gold coins or gold use in coins have you seen?  Here are two common examples

Gold sovereigns were valued and worth a lot then and now. Some technical information provided by a coin dealer.....

1894 Gold Sovereign:

Very Scarce 1894 Sydney Mint  Gold Sovereign. This Superior Example features The Veiled Head Portrait Of Queen Victoria with the reverse depicting St George slaying the Dragon. Designed by Benedetto Pistrucci
    * Purity : .917 Fine Gold (22 Carat)
    * Graded: almost UNCIRCULATED
    * This is a Superior Example.  Scarce Gold Coin Of Our Australian Heritage

The next example I have is a SILVER coins but with a small gold insert (called a privy). Descrition froma  dealer and pic below.

Pure Silver 2 oz coin:

Australian Kookaburra 1994 Proof Issue Coin. It is part of the 1994 Proof Issue of the Australian Kookaburra bullion coin series minted & inspected by the Perth Mint. The 2 oz coin bears a special privy mark, positioned on a pure gold insert, depicting the obverse design of coins featuring King George V Small Head. The coin is made from pure silver refined to 999 parts silver in 1000.

Anyone have anything interesting to show?
