QED news
New GB timing algorithm being tested in the QED.
Climate news
Contribution to global warming by Australia. Australia has one of the highest per capita emissions of carbon dioxide in the world, with 0.3% of the world's population it produces 1.4% and rising(not the .08% the  finders forum dope "Inhere" claims!) of the world's greenhouse gases. Australia also has the highest per capita emissions in the OECD, with 26 tonnes of greenhouse gasses being emitted per person every year.
Australia's C02 emissions rise for the 4th year in a row.

A QED fitted with an 11" Coiltek Elite coil at the Coiltek Test Patch, Maryborough Victoria.
The last target is reportedly a 5oz fishing sinker at 50cm

MODE 3, THS-B neutral, THS-A 60, GAIN 6.
A typical setting for anticipating a range of target sizes.

Be interesting to see the test repeated with the default gain(1) Maybe Reg could do it for us?

I don't know why anybody would go to a test site and not spend time to get the settings optimum. This would also be an imperative after changing coils.
If you look at the last few seconds of the GPZ video you will see the coil being swung around the target and hear the commentator talking about the noise from the ground mineralisation and the operator say "yeah".

The videos are causing a punch up on  PA i see! My suggestion about the QED gain 0f 6 used in the video is that in my opinion over that ground i would be using a lower gain to  reduce the incidence of the odd spurious ground noise.

What the videos do show is that there is more than one manufacturer of high performance PI metal detectors. In addition the other manufacturers can’t match the QED for its excellent price point, light weight, great ergonomics, and the ability to use most prospectors existing arsenal of coils, making it excellent value for money high performance PI detector.

In all fairness to PA. They have been most reasonable of late, and have given the QED a very fair go. They deserve respect as one of the few remaining prospecting forums that are really about gold . I propose we let bygones be bygones.

I see mentioned on the PA forum that the QED was able to ping a 22 gram test piece at 450mm (18") using a Sadie coil during a test at the Bash.

The 22 gram test piece was not gold although no mention what it was made of and if lead?

At least on PA there are QED users in contrast to village idiots like 1/2 wit MAD   who has never used a QED and who lacks the mental capacity and abilty to even use one!

I have been made aware  that the QED was not tested on the same day as the SAD7000 and the 5000.

Unbiased test of the QED v GPZ/GPX
“----- Is it just trickery on behalf of the QED promoters? Is the QED amped up to the max to receive a clear signal? Have the Zed + (Gpx) machines been dumbed down to avoid ground noises so as to show a clearer difference between the zed standard coils and the new test coils? Is that why they're missing that last 5 oz lead sinker?------”
