QED is here! ML have NOT stopped the QED!
Goldsearch Australia has been appointed the Australian Distributor for the QED. QED info on the Goldsearch website has been updated.
This is the only forum where you can talk directly with the designer/ manufacturer of the QED and  also some very experienced QED users.
Jrbeatty and Reg Wilson  and  Yellowfin have NO vested  or pecuniary interests(or secret deals or cash for comment or any other undisclosed benefits )in the QED other than using it to find gold which it is doing very successfully!
Over the overwhelming majority of typical Gf ground the QED GB works just fine! Another new user has used his QED over "fairly difficult ground around Waanyarra and Kooyoora areas  " and not reported any GB problems!
The so called QED GB problem is just  more fake news created by  some fake, delusional and dishonest imbecile cretins on another  "forum" The QED has been used successfully to detect under 300k steel tower transmission lines(try that with a gp/gpx  with a mono coil!!!) so it  can handle bad  EMI! The QED will also run quite and stable in a household with electrical appliances running.Try that with a ML with a mono coil!!! "QED matches and and in most cases outperforms the SDC"  and will thrash it for depth on bigger gold. QED sales are still strong so if you are on the waiting list please be patient as BW is working 12 hours a day to try and reduce the waiting time.
Except for the USB port the prototype QED's are identical in EVERY respect to the production models and according to the designer  the production models may even be  better!
4umer makes another liar a moderator! How low can 4umer go!

There is one program that is due for a stable release version this month (July), or thereabouts.

Yeah, I know there are plenty of options available. Some parts vendors have teamed up with various pcb software companies to offer programs that can vary in ease of use for the new comer. And the paid for programs can be had at attractive prices, albeit with some restriction in functionality or use.

But lets have a quick look at KiCad. It has garnered the attention of some people working at CERN in Switzerland. Two individuals based at CERN have put a huge amount of work into the pcb routing side of the program. Here is video detailing a few interesting changes that highlight the work that has gone into KiCad lately. Combined with all the work effort of many other contributors, this really is some amazing free software.

Remember that this is open source software. Free for anyone to download. No restrictions on utility, unlike some other "free to use" programs (pads/layers etc). It would not be right to compare to a very high end and expensive product.

If anyone is interested, Kicad finally has a new stable release version for 2015.

And a post here (    ) says,

"We are pleased to announce that KiCad has finally made a 2015 release branch. The 2015 stable release of KiCad will start from version 4.0.0. Currently we are in the release candidate phase and as such BZR 6188 is now known as 4.0.0 RC1. The 4.0 branch can be found here: KiCad 4.0 Branch The RC1 branch has been packaged as a archive available here: KiCad 4.0.0 RC1 Archive The new GUI translations can be.."

The guys over at KiCad have just recently updated the documents page. There are a number of documents covering the various applications that make up the KiCad suite. Available in various formats for anyone to download, save and read.
