News: Robby_H :Why can't you provide any evidence for your assertions? Why was the whole "Dr Candy's GB method" thread deleted from finders forum after this post was cross posted there? Who is running scared? Who really controls finders?

I thought this one would be good to share, found with a GP3500 with all the new mods that I have done recently.

Hi Peter, I thought you would be interested in, Steve who visited me today. He is a novice who purchased a 3500 recently. I advised him to have you modify the detector which he did. He went detecting recently in a well detected area.  He got a signal over a partly dug detector hole. It seems as if the previous operator had stopped digging thinking that it was just a ground noise. However,  the superior depth of his modded GP 3500 told Steve it was metal, so he kept on digging until he unearthed a 30 ounce nugget! It was a spot that had been well detected. I  visited that spot a few years ago and avoided detecting there as it was so obviously so well known and detected. Steve said that he is finding much more gold since he had the mod done.

Any way, I have attached a photo of the nugget which can be shown anywhere you like.
Cheers

Great stuff Peter!  respect

Good endorsement for deep seeking detectors (new or modified) that can find big nuggets at deeper depths.

A few have said to me that they would rather dig one or two big holes a day than dozens of smaller ones most with false results. Does than mean in most circumstances that deep targets are likely to be gold IF in undisturbed ground? Good iron discrimination is also important to avoid digging for pick & axe heads at 1 m.

I held two large nuggets (30+ oz nugget and a 50+ oz nugget) in my trembling hand 2 days ago. (Found by a gun detectorist not me). An unfogetable experience.  Yes, they seem to be out there,.

I think that the Gold finds are going very well with the modded GP series but some of the feedback on the modded 4500 detectors is also very good.

Am I missing something here ?
There was no mention of it being found deep, in fact there is no mention of the depth at all.
The only thing mentioned is that it was under another operators hole in a well detected area !
Maybe it was only 18 inches deep and could have been found by any unmodded Minelab PI detector, providing you had a competent operator using a good sized coil, and he swung that coil directly over the target??!!
Food for thought.
All the best,
