News: Robby_H :Why can't you provide any evidence for your assertions? Why was the whole "Dr Candy's GB method" thread deleted from finders forum after this post was cross posted there? Who is running scared? Who really controls finders?

Hi All,
I have recently returned from our 2010 prospecting trip, nothing to rave about but did cover costs with a little bit extra to spare.

Other than some problems with the bearings on the van all panned out well.

Only found 46 grams of yellow stuff but it was a great break.

It’s great to see the progress that is being made with the QED, maybe it will be ready for my next trip?

Attached pic of nuggets found this trip plus a few others

Cheers,

Great pics TWA & welcome back.

Good to see you came back with some nice gold and had a good time.

Do you believe that the "big" nuggets (1+ oz ) have mostly been found, leaving just the small ones?
Or, do you think it is still a matter of walking over the right place with the right gear?
Whats your "gut feel" for the future of prospecting in WA?

Hi Huego,

Thanks for the welcome back.

Re- Do you believe that the "big" nuggets (1+ oz ) have mostly been found, leaving just the small ones?

No, there are many more yet to be located or walked over. There was a recent find over here approximately 6 months ago re 723oz or 23.26kg nugget within sight of the Ora Banda Tavern. Go to my profile and send email to me and I will send pic of this find, can’t paste on here due to copy write.

Re- What’s your "gut feel" for the future of prospecting in WA?

So far all seems to be OK but should people abuse the privilege I can see many hurdles being placed before us. APLA is doing as much as it possibly can to ensure we have the ongoing access as is, but this could all be for nought if abused.

We are probably more fortunate than most other states as we have quite an exstensive goldfields, and it will take many many years before anyone can say there is no more big ones to be found.

Cheers,
            Trevor.

Hi Trevor,

I and many other members will appreciate your views as an experienced and responsible prospector from the west and former ranger.

As for that large nugget I have seen it posted on a another website (taken from a WA newspaper)- very impressive in size, weight and appearance. Good to know they are still around, even if others find them. You haven't done badly with the big ones either in the past.

I am a member and supporter of APLA even though it may be years before I return to WA. Like the PMAV who fight to retain access to gold fields, they are worthy of all prospectors support.

Cheers, Huego
