Hi all

Here are some pictures of the gold i have found over the last couple of months. The first photo is of 194 nuggets ranging from 0.1 gram through to about 0.8 gram with a total weight of about 56.8 grams.

The second photo is of 10 nuggets with the biggest one at the top being 5 grams and a total of 17.6 grams.

Hope to find some more before it gets way to hot.

Lovely finds Chris well done! Hope you continue to find them.... It always great to know that the nuggets one has dug up have never been seen or touched by human hand!

Where are you in Australia?

Another question without notice.
Would you rather have found those 194 nuggets for 54 grams or one large nugget of 54grams?

I am in the Northern Goldfields of WA- Leinster.

It is funny in one way i would rather find all the nuggets because that gave me joy 190 plus times but then i would love to find a really big nugget something that i could keep as a reminder for later on in my life to show off.

I guess there are lots of little nuggets out there but to find a big one could take a life time of detecting.

It is a really hard one to answer. The way i lookat it though is that gold is gold whether it is 0.1gram or 100grams.

Where are you from Huego

Thanks for your answer Chris.

I didn't mean to intrude into your privacy too much. But I have often asked myself that same question (small gold vs big gold). I feel more or less like you although I am not sure that the one-off thrill from a big one is that much more than from the small ones. As for value, I don't sell any of the gold I find. I see it as research and investment. None is combined/ consolidated (unless from same patch or stream), and always labelled as from a certain area. (This is a legacy of my background.)

I am in central Vic and enjoy both searching for "wet gold" in streams, as well as detecting on dry land. I have never found a BIG nugget but like everyone else, dream of doing that ......... sometimes from the armchair!  ::81::

That's no drama Huego.

I actually sold some of mine the other day. I sold all the little pieces but actually kept all the pieces over 1 grams- for the brag book. The cash wasn't really needed but allowed me to justify buying a new coil to the wife.

I guess if you keep hold of yours you must have a fair amount then.

I have never done any searching for wet gold all the stuff i have found have come out of 1 single patch and it all looks like new untravelled stuff. Not much left in there so i suppose i will need to move on and hopefully find some more somewhere else.
