Seeing as I have placed these on the old Forum I will add a few on this.

It may even shut the deniers on Finders Follies as to members having found any gold.

The pic of the bar was obtained from a specie that I crushed and processed.

Cheers,

Great nuggets Trevor,

Whats the story with the 380+ gram gold bar?
I guess you didn't detect that in a gold pour bullion room! Made it yourself from melting small nuggets or specimens you recovered gold from? A story would be good.

Well I may have to show you some of my bigger ones, but nothing as big as these!

Cheers, Huego  :)

Hi  Huego,

I had a signal that when dug turned out to be 40 mm steel nut about 200 mm down. I was about to walk away but instead checked the hole again and still received a signal.

I was roughly down about 800 mm what appeared to be a lump of quartz with gold showing through on the surface embedded in some largish type wash of mixed ironstone and quartz.

Approximate size of the specie was about 150 mm round and a bit over 2kg from memory. Touching the gold with an Ohms meter showing gold on one side of the specie to the gold showing on the opposite side gave a reading; this would be repeated where ever the probes on the meter were place on gold showing on the specie.

Anyways once back in Perth I took it to a mate’s place where we crushed it and put it through a burden pan with mercury, retorted the mercury off, melted the gold and poured it into a mould.

This specie was found not far out from the Lawlers Mining District south west of Agnew WA.

Cheers,

Thanks Trevor,

Great story of a large specimen with over 12 oz gold ...... and one we all dream of finding. WoW!

Mind you I would have left it as it was but I guess you, and everyone else who saw it, wanted to know HOW MUCH gold there was INSIDE. The mystery would be enough for me. But what a fantastic find. Bravo!

Did you sell the bar or is it still under the mattress?  :D If you keep it it could be worth 5- 10 times current value
in 10 years, a good super addition for you.

First pic showing the 32 ozs in the hands of the missus, had to cut off her hands to sell this one LOL.

Second pic of a 12 oz found laying on top covered in lichen on the top but pur yellow underneath, this one I found approximately 300 metres north 2 years earlier before the missus picked up the 32 ozs.
