News: Robby_H :Why can't you provide any evidence for your assertions? Why was the whole "Dr Candy's GB method" thread deleted from finders forum after this post was cross posted there? Who is running scared? Who really controls finders?

This is some "wet" alluvial gold I have found recently. Most is 'nuggety' gold weighing from 50 to 200 mg (0.05 to 0.20g) per piece. One of the best virgin spots I have ever found, but somehow missed by the old timers. I know from working this one spot how the old timers would have felt panning in this now historic creek.

Some of the bits have mercury attached and some are dirty with iron oxides. Acid treatment cleaned these up - the weight loss was negligible. My friend and I recovered almost 1 oz from this spot, about 2 m square, over 3 days working in very cold conditions with concentrators and pans. We didn't feel the cold! Wonder why!

My pan shows about 4.4 grams of gold from working for 5 hours on the first day. This was close to civilisation so rotapan &

PS: I never mix or combine my found gold. It is always labelled as found from a particular location.

PS2: I use pans, gravel extractors, concentrator (rotapan), a river sluice (preferred) and highbanker (pumped water - electric or petrol powered pump) depending on the site conditions, access, water availability etc

A few larger bits (almost clunkers, well tinkers really) from working in another central Victorian creek.

One was shaped almost like a cross, and guess what? The Pope was visiting VIC at the time. Shoulda sold it (magnified) on e-Bay.
