Hi Mick,

great news. Better to find the gold yourself! Well done. I heard of your success from Bugs. Interesting site it seems.
I believe you found it using a detector suitable for fine gold using a small coil, right?
Anyway, well done, I am sure more is coming your way soon.

Hi Mick,

It's a lesson for all of us i suppose,we detect twice a day and i have trouble taking the mournings takings with me in the afternoon but the missus takes hers for good luck

We hope you have a speedy recovery and i'm sure with your modded 2000 it shouldn't take you long but like you said we tend to remember every single one and where it came from

Regards Ron

Hi Gef,

Yeah sure am still using my self molested 2000, mines v10 extreme

Ron, I just need to put the coil in the right spot, the right spot seems very hard to fine around these parts.... I have pretty much gotten over the lost ones(not really!) I wave to them on the way back from the goldfields each time ::38::

Digger, I use a camera that has a macro setting for taking high detail photos of small items. Its a casio ex-z1000. Had it for about 6 years now. The other important thing to note when taking photos of nuggets is have a dark matt(not shiny) background, the correct lighting and hold the camera on a slight angle so the flash does not reflect directly back to the camera lense.

Cheers Mick

Good stuff Mick ! good to see you getting onto the yellow again.....just takes time and patience.

Digger try using a scanner to take pics of your small nuggets,i have seen some excellent results doing it that way.

Great to see you are back at it Mick. I lost my white plastic bottle in WA one day with a weeks gold in it. I spent hours looking for it. The big problem was it just looked like all the quartz around the area. Found it in the end, but since the I always use a bright color cap now. I once used a glass bottle but dropped it and it broke, but that another story.

Hi Guys,

Well found a couple today. The first one was in an area that had been raked. 0.05g
The second one, 0.12g was found on a track about 1" down. Gave a good signal!
Both found using my trusty old molested 2000 and my nice new Nuggetfinder Sadie coil.

The raked area where I found the 0.05g

The little 0.05g nugget?

Congrats Mick, Just think of what you could find with a 5000, hmmmmmmm nope forget it, the 2000 doing just fine at a fraction of the price.

Thanks for showing,

Nice work Mick, even smalls are good to start to a NEW COLLECTIONgood luck

That small roundish nugget with angular shape to it, looks like a single crystal that's been rounded off. I have found a few of these in the Talbot area.

A few years ago I decided to kept my gold finds separated, ie marked from different areas/regions, as I do it for interest not to sell.
To me, it's intersting to compare gold from different areas (shape, colur, wear, etc) . Interesting to re-live finds with pics and recall an area. It's often worth returning with new tools, as you have done.

I hope to start a new round when I have a QED of my own.

Hi Mick,

nice nuggets to start with the new collection. You obviously have molested your detector into a find gold timing detector.
 good luck

Hi Aziz,

Yeah I think it works pretty well for what it was! Little bit rough on the threshold, but that was most likely the weather. I need to pull my finger out and fix up a decent big gold timing. Its great being able to fiddle with the timings! happy face

Huego, Talbot ay! Hmmm wonder where I found them? rolleye 1 Nice detective work

TWA, A 5000..... Would be nice to have a machine that purrs like that with its sensitivity and all, but where's the fun in that! I'll just keep pluggin away at mine.

Cheers Mick
