Australia Day March

Doug, I received this the other day (16 Jan) from PMAV's president Rita Bently ......

Hi all,

The PMAV has been invited to participate in the Australia Day march in Melbourne to celebrate the activities that make Australia what it is. It is really good that prospecting / mining has been recognised this year so we have accepted the invitation.

PLUS, we will be doing hands-on displays of detecting and panning. We need help. I know it isn't much notice as Australia Day is only just over a week away, but if you are in Melbourne and can spare the time would you please consider supporting us on the day. It isn't a long walk - along Swanston from Bourke St to the Domain. If the walk is a bit far for you, you can head straight to the gardens to look after the stall while others walk. You will need to be in the city around 9.30 and the walk should be over with by 11. Then we need people to man the stall. It won't be difficult, you will talking to people about what you enjoy! There will be committee members, including me, there to support you if anyone asks anything difficult.

Andrew Bales - whose email you will see above (Andrew Bales <ozprospector@gmail.com>)- is doing the co-ordination of this event for us so if you could reply to me and to Andrew I would appreciate it.
