Yesterday's annual general meeting of the PMAV at Rushworth was well attended and was the great meeting. The guest speaker Demot Henry gave a very fascinating talk on the history and occurrence of Victorian gold nuggets and described with examples the work involved in making models of them. The auction of donated items was also very successful with most items being sold. Some people did get some real bargains. The gpx 5000 was sold for $5700.After the meeting it was good to have a chat with some PMAV members at the barbeque. It was very pleasing to me to talk with Rita after the meeting and to see how well she is and that she has the same spark and enthusiasm as always!Their are some new faces on the committee and with Rita's leadership and the support of her wonderful husband the PMAV is in good hands. The N central branch of the PMAV has been reactivated and meets at Clunes and their will be a new branch formed at Ballarat. In all it was good meeting although I am very tired because driving in the morning it was raining a foggy and I had to drive home through severe thunderstorms, heavy rain and local flash flooding!
