Hi All,

Ebay has 12v electro magnets of varying lifting capacities up to 100kg, im looking at the 50kg ones to make a rake to remove rusty metal for detecting, you can buy 3 for $67

Problem is I don't know really which ones to try , are they strong enough to do the job, I was thinkin of putting 3 in a row and fix some wheels on and connect up to my 4.4 kva genny which has a 12v battery charger supply line

If that doesn't work I could use my transformer power supply that's converts 240v back to 12v at 30amps

If these work I imagine there will be a rush on them so can anyone help me out

Ron

I know of a fellow who made a "rake" useing simple rare earth magnets
basically its just a plastic tube with a row of magnets in it, works fine
picks up most of the surface junk.

Hi 6666,

Yeah, seen them before not very powerful but I think these sound like they would have some serious grunt but don't know enough about them to jump in and purchase just yet

Cheers Ron
