Hi everyone,

I have commenced a YouTube channel to start putting out there various tips via video.

Now that I have ironed out the setting up, etc, etc the first few videos are now up.

Doug posted the QED setup video in an earlier thread, so Ill post the link to the others below:

A ground noise identification video:

A real target response video:

An X-Coil sensitivity test:

More will be put up as I make them.

Cheers,
Goldman

Using the X coil I can run mode 1 and gain 'flat out'. Runs smooth as silk in even the hottest ground. No other coil can run in such hot settings, and response is very sharp.
X coil makes the PL2 an even better machine. Don't know how our Russian friend has done it, but he has.

Reg are you going to be able to borrow the biggest x coil to try on the QED? Would X coils be able to make really big mono;s eg like 24"?

Well then Reg give us some video footage like Goldman to display what you are saying by showing settings including Mode 1 and Gain up max at 10 with the X-coil (if 12x6) and the same with another coil of similar size (NF12x8, ML8” or CT9”) over the hottest ground that you say.

However, I very much doubt you will do so and follow Goldman by using video footage as proof.

Hi all,
I can endorse Reg’s comments re gain as I often have run the 12”x6” at maximum gain (10) with THS-A in the 80s, THS-B as far under null as possible all in mode 1. I have mentioned this in reports elsewhere going back months.
You definitely can run this coil much ‘hotter’ than other coils on the QED.
Cheers Goldman

Doug, not sure what sizes are available in X coils, but will post on any that I get to use.

Hollywood next Brian, thanks for the vids.

When I received my unit back from the latest updates, my 11” minelab ran mode 1 gain 10. Unfortunately the coil has gone south since then.
