New GB timing algorithm being tested in the QED.
Climate news
Contribution to global warming by Australia. Australia has one of the highest per capita emissions of carbon dioxide in the world, with 0.3% of the world's population it produces 1.4% and rising(not the .08% the  finders forum dope "Inhere" claims!) of the world's greenhouse gases. Australia also has the highest per capita emissions in the OECD, with 26 tonnes of greenhouse gasses being emitted per person every year.
Australia's C02 emissions rise for the 4th year in a row.

Howard I will be sending you the control box for upgrades, thanks.

Did you give any consideration to displaying the software version on power up ?

The firmware update has the GB range extended from 1-200 to 1-300.

The improved GB method is called "DSM" Dynamic Spectrum Modulation.
A copyright notification was placed in this forum about a month ago.

Within each group of 2 * Short TX and 1 * Long TX the Short TX are increased in width and the Long TX is decreased in width. The samples after each TX are arranged to simultaneously cancel single cycle Mains EMI and Earth Field.

Sounds good Bugs.  happy face

Love the way samples in DSM have been 'adapted & arranged' (a borrowed phrase) the make the QED GB better.

How is improved GB (ground noise) linked to EMI & Earth Field rejection?
Will you advertise "Improved, now with DSM"!  Cant see that but some makers would

You are making great progress with incremental improvements / upgrades and service to QED owners.
We are proud of your achievements.  Clap Hands

 good luck

Some nice tongue in cheek stuff there Heugo.
Many other GB methods alter the sample widths and phase to cancel Ground and EF.
DSM only changes the TX widths making it unique.

Bugwhiskers, as I am unable to do a return postage bag due to being overseas I will just slip some notes into the battery holder to cover return postage.  I'll get them exchanged here so they're the right currency. :) I'll ship it off in the next few days.  Sound like a good plan to you?

An alternative method which would probably work is to cyclically alter sample phase/widths.

ground balancing with the upgrade

For those lucky QED owners with the latest upgrade, there are two methods to initially determine whether to go up in numbers or down to GB.

1) listen for the tone as you lower the coil to the ground and determine whether it is
* a high (rising) pitch, in which case you’ll need to go down in numbers, or
* a low (falling) pitch, in which case you’ll need to go up in numbers

2. use the AGB to determine which way it wants to go, up or down in numbers

Once you’ve got the direction, then very, very slowly bob the coil whilst depressing the appropriate (up or down) button.

You will notice that it will get quieter and quieter as you approach GB, at the quietest point release the button.

Bob the coil to check the GB and if needed incrementally adjust to get a perfect GB.

With practice you’ll find it becomes second nature.

Cheers Goldman
