Reading the replies by Goldman to the question regarding THS-B prompted me in regards to the different versions of the QED as it progressed throughout its development.

My 1st test run of a QED Version was in 2014 which had a 6 pack battery holder attached to the top of its silver Control Box with its LED screen and 3 tiny push buttons for adjusting the different settings for the Menu list printed on the front panel under the LCD screen.

Below are pics of that event showing the settings I used with the NF 12” Advantage coil attached and adjusting settings for the 18" Advantage mono coil..

The current version with its latest upgrade is certainly different since then.

Here is another pic from back then of the QED Control Box with the Menu list for settings.

The other pic is the QED with an 8" mono connected up for a quick air test session.

Also one way I did comparison tests between my GPX5000 and the QED attached using the same 12" Evo coil over an un-dug in-situ targets.

Therefore it was just a matter of switching the coil cable between both control boxes to compare target responses and detecting over the ground.

Thanks Blip.

Here is another version after an update to my QED using a Battery Box, which contained 12 Nickel-Metal Hydride batteries and was attached under the armrest instead of a Battery Holder that contained 6 Nickel-Metal Hydride batteries being attached to the top of the Control Box.

Here is a photo supplied by Howard of the control boxes over the years - its a bit out of focus, but still portrays the development from the first to present versions.

Cheers Goldman

Absolutely.

Thanks Gary. Interesting. Howard is not resting. His brain box is still full of ideas/progressions. Interesting ones at that!
