Hi all,

Been out of action today so haven’t caught up with the forum posts until now.

So two things:
• tests done with target on the ground,
• I will post a picture of the 1oz nugget I used in the tests tomorrow as I need to change the image type so the forum will accept it

All interesting stuff.

Cheers Goldman

Be buggered if i can upload pics from the ipad. I can elsewhere without issues.

My pics are jpeg so i convert to jpg yet for some reason it still wont work. I then convert to pdf and still no luck.

Im reducing the size and converting to an excepted format but no go!

Best to convert to the pics to a .png file from the jpeg/jpg. Then they can be uploaded.

Cheers Goldman

Even when converted to .png for some reason is shows as a jpeg when i try and upload it. Dont have this problem elsewhere.

Look forward to the pic of the 1oz nugget Goldman.

Also do you think different GB readings would change an air test result?

Gary.

Gary.

The nugget was on on the mineralised ground out back of Maryborough so the GB was set to whatever was needed for the ground, in this case 224.

The 50c piece tests were done at the coiltek test patch (didn’t record the GB there), but the GB was whatever was needed there as well.

So in my view a real world test in mineralised ground for the selected mode.

Nugget picture coming.

D777 I recall you posting a link in another discussion to this headphone amplifier in the pic below which I purchased.

I have it attached to the front of my GPX battery harness where I can either plug in my headphone or GME external speaker when using my GPX. Also can then use it with a cable from the QED to the amplifier and my preferred headphone. The price of the Amp is nothing like the cost of the other amps and setups, wireless and alike however I feel it has enough amplification for my GPX and QED.

I did not use the Amp and headphone for my tests on the 50c coin only using the earlier Nokia external speaker that came with the QED.

Gary. happy face

P.S. I sure have given my keyboard a workout in the last few days with my postings here.

i didnt use this one i used the other one should be in the same amp thread, this has speaker and anp in one unit powered by 9v battery

I’ve just got back from 2 weeks prospecting and haven’t kept an absolute detailed watch on things so I do not know if posts have been deleted or not.

Don’t like the insinuation that I’m biased as I treat all posts by everyone on their merit.

where i tested was heaps mineralised as seen by gb numbers, magnetite brecciated quartz and mud stone/iron stone.rubble every where, same place we found the copper samples last year. coin was put on ground and coil passed over it, then measured with one of those fold out plastic builders ruler. i reckon i can still squeeze more out of it using the other small amp and rpg head phones. will try again over the weekend.

Gary, my amp is similar to yours which only cost me $20 but have noticed they have gone up to $25. Must have been popular!

Earbuds are good being able to hear the faints and external noise. Its the leads getting snagged all the time that gives me the shits!

Earbuds, $20 amp and the Quest wirefree mate or whatever they are make a good combo.

Al I think I paid around the $36 mark for the Amp and yes not being connected by a cable to the QED is good however I am used to it with the GPX and its power lead. Actually I have cables running all over the place on the GPX battery harness and I am always last to head off for a detect with my mates with my swing arm set-up, connecting up my army belt with everything I have hanging off it, connecting up my hipstick & bungee cord set-up, placing the headphone over my hat and not tangling up its cable before plugging it into the amp, just to mention a few before I am content.

Gary.
yep thats the same amp gazz  happy face
