What is empirical  evidence?
Empirical evidence is information acquired by observation or experimentation. This data is recorded and analyzed by scientists and is a central process as part of the scientific method. Why is everything posted on climate by Inhere always horseshit?
Poor old  Inhere on finders still does not know the difference between weather and climate! The silly old goat seems to think because some places have recently had very cold weather that this brings into question  AGW!  Only right wing rabble rubbish climate deniers like horseshit Inhere don't  seem to understand  that AGW will mean that some regions of the earth will become colder!

Thorny Devil - looks can deceive

« on: Tuesday July 17 2012 00:51:03 AEST AM »

Hi Doug,
as you know I'm new on your/any forum for that matter, and I have real problems to find out what you guys are talking about, but I'm also very interested to learn how a detector is build and what's the difference between all these countless models, so I can make an informed decision before buying another detector  smile

Do you have a post with definitions for these technical terms?  I'm guessing some, which are probably not correct anyway, but others sound absolutely Chinese to me  confused

Please help.  Now, promise not to laugh.  What stands QED for? Maybe you can put the definitions page/post in the Female Friendly Forum, since the blokes seem to know it all.

Hi Mary,

Q.E.D. is an initialism of the Latin phrase quod erat demonstrandum, which translates as "which was to be demonstrated". The phrase is traditionally placed in its abbreviated form at the end of a mathematical proof or philosophical argument when what was specified in the enunciation — and in the setting-out — has been exactly restated as the conclusion of the demonstration.[1] The abbreviation thus signals the completion of the proof.

The following link is a good start.

The attached .PDF clearly explains (with diagrams) how Ground Balance works in a PI detector.

Hi Bugs,

thank you, excellent explained, just what I wanted  happy face I already saved the link to my favorites and will read through it whenever I have some spare time, or I even will make time  smile It's very well written for beginners like me.  After 12 years of metal detecting I am just beginning to have a better look at this game.

The GB is a bit more tricky  confused I'll save that for a rainy day  smile
