The QED pictured is backward compatible with the current QED and has been designed and made by a member here. The firmware and circuit are identical with the current version except for a change in the face plate and control box. Changing to this configuration will NOT void the warranty when performed by the control box designer as it has been endorsed, approved and authorized by the QED manufacturer. The 4th button will not work at this time as the  firmware update for that has not been created yet and when its available will be provided free of charge (other than postage costs)by BW. QED Detector ,latest updates board is only available to registered forum members.

Goldsearch Australia has been appointed the Australian Distributor for the QED. QED info on the Goldsearch website has been updated.
This is the only forum where you can talk directly with the designer/ manufacturer of the QED and  also some very experienced QED users.
Jrbeatty and Reg Wilson  and  Yellowfin  (or Doug here for that matter!)have NO vested  or pecuniary interests(or secret deals or cash for comment or any other undisclosed benefits )in the QED other than using it to find gold which it is doing very successfully!

For long  forum posts I always type them up in word or the open office equivalent so that I always have a copy and after editing I then copy and paste  them here for my post.

I have increased the seconds before an *unused session timeout from 2880 to 4000 ie  from 48 to 66 mins!

*This is the number of seconds for sessions to last after they haven't been accessed. If a session is not accessed for too long, it is said to have "timed out". Anything higher than 2400 is recommended.

As someone who makes the occasional "sermon from the Mount", that I call a soapbox, ie long & winding dissertations etc just because I know how much they are appreciated (NOT!), I can suggest you follow Doug's advice, Bobby. Getting "timed out" for a big (important) post would drive me mad too!  ::54::

Use Word, then check spelling, then copy & paste. I usually find improvements to spelling, words, meaning and typos I have missed. But once pasted & posted its safe (unless Doug deletes it accidentally) and you still have the original as backup.

I also support the use of Firefox.  thumbs up!

(Damn, there I go agreeing and repeating what others have said just to be agreeable!  ::38::)

Yeh, I know how you feel with some words. I don't have pet hates, just don't like making mistakes - spelling, typos & ambiguity or poor clarity. That one reason I keep correcting my own posts.

There ya go!   happy face
