Empirical evidence is information acquired by observation or experimentation. This data is recorded and analyzed by scientists and is a central process as part of the scientific method. Why is everything posted on climate by Inhere always horseshit?
Poor old  Inhere on finders still does not know the difference between weather and climate! The silly old goat seems to think because some places have recently had very cold weather that this brings into question  AGW!  Only right wing rabble rubbish climate deniers like horseshit Inhere don't  seem to understand  that AGW will mean that some regions of the earth will become colder!

I caught one rainbow on a  beadhead pheasant tail flashback nymph and lost another.River is very low as the irrigation season has ended and  the Goulburn  river flows from Eildon are at only"environmental" flow levels.Have been given another fly rod and reel to try as part of this retailers try before you buy policy( a policy ML dealers should take up!!!!!!!).

I have had another trip this time to the Rubicon  River. I lost 2 reasonable fish due to inexperience with the method but caught and released quite a few small trout all on my own fly patterns.
I hope to have at least one more trip before the season closes to experiment with some different set ups and decide if I want to buy the 11' specialist Czech nymphing rod.

Hi Doug
Started this kind off nimpfing moore then 30 years ago, even before they call it czech nimpfing.
Some things that are important are, the lengt off your leader and the weight off your nimpfs.
The lengt off your leader depents off the dept and currend speed off the water.
Wath I would use as a standard was 4 to 6 meters with a strike indicator or without wath you prefer.
Weighted nimpfs in all kind off weights are importend to reach the nessesery dept to reach the fish.
On some occasions build nimpfs on jighooks up to 6 grams, you can always put some leadshot on your leader to.
Casting with heavy nimpfs is a differend kind off ballgame, it will be easyer with a 11 foot rod.
Wish you all the big fish.

I use tungsten bead head barbless jig head nymphs as the anchor fly. The 11 foot rod does make the method easier. The guy that i deal with allows you to try any of his rods, reels before you buy and his 3 wt  carbon fibre Czech nymph rod is only $ A180!!! The leader i use is that used  by Australia's competitors in the world czech nymphing championship. I am experimenting to see if i can use braid for most of the leader rather than mono filament because braid has no memory and no stretch which should aid in getting better strike detection and hook sets.

I caught and released 5 small trout on my last trip on the Rubicon, I did not lose one on this trip! The downside was that that water i fished is very snaggy and i lost over a dozen flies.Wth the high cost of fluorocarbon tippet and tungsten beads and  hooks this is an expensive exercise! I will use tippet rings next time which will mean that i should only lose the anchor fly (the one on the bottom) and still retain (hopefully)the dropper fly which is about 18" above the anchor fly and has its own leader. The rivers close in Vic next Monday at midnight. Then back to the lakes to chase the big one's!

Hi Doug
5 small trout is not to bad, loosing heavy nimpfs starting a new technique is normal.
Trye some les heavyer nimpfs, like the one with copper or glass beats.
It all depents on many factors, dept, currend flow, water visabileti, lengt off your leader.
In a dead drift, when it hits the bottem, lift it and trye to fish the nimpf like 5 cm above the bottem.
Its always good to give the nimpf some life.
