The fly fishing is poor at the moment in Newyln Reservoir,Hepburn Lagoon and Dean reservoir. A competition between 3  fly fishing clubs last  Sunday week  over the 3 lakes resulted in only one fish a 4lb brown at Newyln reservoir! I fished Dean reservoir yesterday until 7 in the evening also for no fish and did not even see one fish move. Why  the fly fishing is so poor at the moment has many veteran fly fishers scratching their heads.Maybe low water levels in some of the lakes and colder than usual conditions may be an explanation? Maybe things will improve when the rivers open on the 4th September.
